La Notte Rosa : The pink side of the moon- Rimini, Italy

La Notte Rosa is a 2 day Street party/festival in Rimini, Italy that they have every year.

We picked Rimini to stay at just by chance. I looked up coastal towns on the Adriatic sea and some hotels in Rimini popped up. It is an amazing vacation beach town. It is set up for families with children. The beach, bouncy toys ,bumper boats, a ferris wheel, basketball courts, riding toys, handball, volleyball, playgrounds...homemade Gelato, Pizza!..a beautiful marina, walking paths...everything right in town and close.

A candy truck!

Also as luck would have it, we arrived a afternoon before a giant party.

As we began to explore the town we wondered why restaurants and hotels were decorating everything pink.

uuhhh....men in one piece silky pink suits with bunny ears singing Italian songs and kissing woman,...(keep scrolling down lots of photos and details)

In one long street next to the beach there was booths of hand crafts, antiques, drinking, eating, cheering, bands playing, people dancing, entertainers of all sorts, intricate decorations covering every corner and last a huge firework display. Those Italians know how to throw a giant party. It made up for a missed 4th of July. Only the colors weren't red white and blue they were PINK..:))..Everyone was wearing pink. Pink dresses, shoes, shorts, shirts, wigs...you name it..And I mean everyone of every age.  We even saw a guy dancing with pink taffeta wrapped around him, and a Congo line of pink glory.

Not sure who this singer was. She was very popular though. We were completely squished between people trying to get the first look at her. It brought me back to seeing bands when I was a teen in those small coffee shops and outdoor parks in Seattle.

I chaperoned my two teenage daughters to this event. They weren't very happy about this.
I was actually surprised how calm they remained. ( Maybe it was just because I was there.) Am I really that old?
So sad to be the old lady with her two daughters. Although to this event, I saw lots of Seniors partying it up!

happy :))

Not the best picture. I was trying to get a photo of how many bikes were just swerving in and out of the crowd walking.
This particular bike had two child seats on it. One on the back and one on the front.
